WANTED PHP / LAMP developer

KISS is looking for a PHP / LAMP web developer to join our ever growing digital team.

Ideally you should hold at least 6 years' practical experience in a commercial organisation or have been self-employed/freelance developing websites, experienced in the full life-cycle using a range of technologies across the LAMP stack. You should be self-confident, respectful, sociable and approach problems in a professional, methodical and logical manner.

Responsibilities

• The development/co-development of new client websites and/or web-based application projects
• The continuous provision of support to existing clients' websites and applications
• Working alone and/or collaboratively with colleagues and clients on projects
• Ensuring a consistent and accurate approach to each piece of work through planning and thorough execution with an eye for detail, both functional and aesthetic
• Working on, developing and maintaining the company's own website(s), in-house CMS and internal web-applications
• Maintaining one's own evolving development in new technologies and protocols, introducing them into the company and driving new opportunities through their use.
• Mentoring more junior team members, working together as a team to improve the experience for all, growing together
• Taking full ownership of projects you are working on and ensure they are delivered on time and to budget
• Keep up to date on current programming techniques and computing equipment
• Assist with estimates, task breakdown of projects

Skills and Experience

The knowledge and experience to hit the ground running working alongside other team members on projects small to large. To be able to do this we are looking for: - Development planning within an Agile environment

• Solid PHP, MySQL skills
• Knowledge of developing with a number of Content Management Systems
• Knowledge of MVC frameworks (CodeIgniter, Laravel, etc)
• Coding for legacy systems (older versions of IE etc)
• Knowledge of common third party APIs (Google Maps, Sagepay, etc.)
• Understand and implement the principles and practices of effective responsive web design
• Experience with version control (ideally Git) • Experience writing code for a large, high availability customer facing websites
• Excellent communication skills • Engaging personality with a positive attitude, no matter what the challenge
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of HTML5/CSS3
• Experienced in leading the development of projects

Nice to haves

• Server management
• Frontend skills in JavaScript and jQuery, XHTML, CSS, CSS compilining (SASS/SCSS)
• Mobile app development
• Web video development
• Knowledge of JIRA
• Magento experience
• ASP experience
