'KISS of Life'

Our team along with a number of people from Cambridge businesses, completed the British Heart Foundation’s Heartstart training at the 'KISS of Life' event on the Cambridge Science Park. The sessions were run by Cambridge University Medical students who taught the attendees how to deal with an unconscious casualty, a suspected heart attack, cardiac arrest, choking and cases of serious bleeding.

Our CEO, Simon Fryer, said:

“We think this initiative is very important. As a result of completing these 2 hour training sessions and knowing what to do in an emergency, we all feel more confident, ready to help and potentially make a difference in the communities that we live in. I definitely urge more people to get involved and attend some form of emergency life support training.”

Michael Francis, Marketing Communications Manager at BlinkPipe, said: “I found it really useful, I have completed first aid courses in the past, but this was quite a few years ago, so it was good to have a refresher course and hopefully, if I’m ever in the position where I can help somebody, I will now be able to.” Katharine Warner of Salus Wellness, praises the Heartstart training, commenting: “I have certainly learnt one or two new things from the training sessions. It has been a while since I have done a first aid course, so thank you very much it was really helpful.”

The British Heart Foundation is dedicated to fighting against all types of heart disease and their work has already made a significant difference with more people surviving a heart attack or cardiac arrest than ever before.
